Outline of Okinawa

Okinawa prefecture is located in the Southwest part of Japan and is part of Ryukyu Islands. It consists of 161islands stretching 400 kilometers north to south and 1,000 kilometers east to west between the Pacific Ocean and the East China Sea. It is called "Hub of Asia". Naha, the capital of Okinawa is 1,000 kilometers away from Fukuoka and Taipei, and 1,500 kilometers away from Osaka, Seoul, Hong Kong, and Manila. Historically, Okinawa developed through trading with different Asian counties.
